Welcome to the Team: Ragan Oliver
The Office of Professional and Workforce Development (OPWD) is thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Ragan Oliver! Ragan joins us as a Marketing Specialist, bringing her creativity, enthusiasm, and marketing expertise to our department. Get to know Ragan and her journey to OPWD below.
Ragan, a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising, was drawn to the OPWD team not only for the opportunity to stay close to family and friends in Gainesville but also for our culture of collaboration and positivity. She shared, “I quickly realized how much this team values collaboration and maintaining a positive work environment, which was a big factor in my decision.”
A Look Into Her Role
In her role, Ragan supports OPWD through various marketing initiatives, including:
- Scheduling marketing emails for courses and events
- Creating engaging social media content
- Designing flyers and graphics for social platforms
Ragan’s contributions are especially vital as she assists during a teammate’s maternity leave, ensuring the seamless delivery of our marketing efforts.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ragan to our team! Her experience in social media marketing will be instrumental in driving the continued growth and success of our programs,” said Kylie Register, Marketing and Communications Specialist. “Ragan has already demonstrated a positive and proactive approach to high-pressure situations, along with a remarkable ability to learn quickly. We look forward to seeing her contributions further enhance our marketing efforts.”
Before joining OPWD, Ragan honed her skills as a Social Media Assistant at UF Warrington College of Business. She credits this experience with shaping her career path and developing her marketing and teamwork abilities. “That position played a large role in shaping the trajectory of my career, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity,” she said.
For Ragan, the most exciting part of her work is sharing impactful stories. Whether it’s through event photography or course highlights, she finds joy in showcasing the TREEO Center’s impact. “Since I started working here, I’ve realized what a kind and supportive team I have the chance to work with, so that gets me excited as well!”
Life Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Ragan enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with her lovable three-year-old lhasapoo, Buddy. Always ready for an adventure, Buddy adores car rides and indulging in pup cups from local coffee shops. This summer, Ragan fulfilled a bucket list dream by hiking through the breathtaking landscapes of Utah’s Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
Professional Inspiration and Goals
Ragan holds onto advice from a UF professor: “Never stop learning.” This mindset fuels her drive to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to OPWD. She looks forward to expanding her skills and promoting the impactful programs and resources OPWD has to offer.
