The UF Office of Professional and Workforce Development (OPWD) is excited to welcome Curt Dwiggins as our new Water Distribution Program Manager at the Training, Research, and Education for Environmental Occupations (TREEO) Center! Curt brings a depth of knowledge and experience to the team, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.

Born in Fort Lauderdale and raised in Tamarac, Curt recently relocated to north/central Florida to escape the congestion of South Florida. Ready for a change of pace, Curt found the perfect fit here at TREEO, where his skills and experience align perfectly with our mission and programs.

The Role: Water Distribution Program Manager

In his new role, Curt is developing programs for water distribution technicians — and anything else that comes his way! No two days look exactly the same, but he’s excited to dive into the work and make a positive impact in the water industry.

“We are delighted to welcome Curt Dwiggins as a full-time instructor at the TREEO Center,” said Andrew Campbell, Director of the University of Florida’s Office of Professional and Workforce Development. “Curt brings a wealth of technical expertise and industry experience, which he will leverage to develop new course offerings and expand our portfolio of high-quality training programs. His contributions will strengthen the center’s mission of delivering innovative and impactful education.”

A Career Built from the Ground Up

Curt’s career journey started in January 1998, when, at just 20 years old, he began replacing water meters for a local special purpose district serving the southern end of Coral Springs, Florida. Over the years, he wore many hats, learning new skills and expanding his expertise along the way. By 2013, Curt had worked his way up to managing the field department, overseeing water distribution and wastewater collection until he made the move to north Florida in September 2023.

Curt credits much of his success to the trust and freedom he was given to follow his professional interests, which helped him become the well-rounded professional he is today.

Life Outside of Work

When he’s not busy at TREEO, you’ll most likely find Curt enjoying time with his family and relaxing around his property — his personal sanctuary. He’s an avid DIY-er with a passion for automotive repair, woodworking, welding, and just about anything that involves building something with his hands. He also has a green thumb and enjoys gardening, particularly when it comes to growing fruiting plants and trees.

With his dedication, hands-on expertise, and passion for training the next generation of water distribution professionals, Curt is a valuable addition to the team, and we look forward to the impact he’ll make—please join us in giving him a warm welcome!
