Halloween 2021!

Each Halloween seems to top the last. The Office of Professional and Workforce Development (OPWD) gets very spirited around the holidays, and this year we decided to collectively decorate the Canteen as a Haunted Movie Theater! Six tables were individually decorated as a popular Halloween Movie: It, BeetleJuice, Psycho, Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus and The Corpse Bride.

On Friday, October 29th employees brought in scarily-delicious food and beverages to stock the concessions stand. Those who dressed up participated in a costume catwalk, and everyone had the chance to vote for the scariest, funniest, most creative/original and best overall costumes. To wrap it up, we ended the afternoon with a bit of Halloween trivia!

The 2021 OPWD Halloween Costume Contest Winners:

  • Scariest Costume: Ron Trygar as Serial Killing Swamp Monster

  • Funniest Costume: Kevin Jackson as Casey Becker from Scream

  • Most Creative/Original: Kady Morris as The Paper Doll

  • Best Overall: Courtney Hancock as Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter
