Celebrating Excellence: Honoring Our Superior Accomplishment Nominees and Winners

Each year, the Superior Accomplishment Awards celebrate the faculty and staff members who go above and beyond in service to our university community. This program recognizes individuals and teams who demonstrate outstanding performance, meaningful impact, and a deep commitment to supporting students, colleagues, and the mission of the University of Florida.

From innovative problem-solvers and dedicated collaborators to rising stars and long-standing leaders, these awards highlight excellence across four categories: Employee Performance, Rookie of the Year, Team Collaboration, and Sustained Excellence. Nominations are submitted by peers and supervisors and thoughtfully reviewed by a university selection committee, ensuring that each honoree’s contributions reflect true service, efficiency, and lasting impact.

Please join us in celebrating this year’s winners and nominees for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Team Collaboration

Melissa Hamilton & Robb Wolf Division 3 Winner

Melissa and Robb went far beyond their roles to bring a bold vision to life for the Training, Research, and Education for Environmental Occupations (TREEO) Center, transforming an aging, unsafe structure into a modern asbestos training facility that better serves thousands of learners each year. Through hands-on problem-solving, strategic coordination, and plenty of nights and weekends, they completed the project well below the original estimate. Robb led the physical rebuild, while Melissa ensured the space met industry training standards and instructional needs. The result is a safe, immersive, state-of-the-art learning environment that elevates workforce training and stands as a powerful example of teamwork, resourcefulness, and dedication.

“These awards highlight the strength of our team and the impact our staff make every day,” said Lauren McCain, Interim Director of the University of Florida Office of Professional and Workforce Development (OPWD). “Melissa and Robb exemplify the collaboration and passion that drives our success.”
