COBie Technical Manager Training

These three courses will help you learn the details of the COBie standard and prepare for the buildingSMART international COBie Certified Professional examination. Students must register and successfully complete each course in the order as specified above if they wish to move to the next course in the sequence.

This is the first course in the three-part COBie Certified Professional Training pathway designed to provide contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, information managers, and owners with the essential knowledge and hands-on techniques needed to produce, test, and apply COBie. All courses are fully online and self-paced, allowing you to master the Construction-Operations Building information exchange (COBie) Standard on your time.

This is the second course in the three-part COBie Certified Professional Training pathway for designers, contractors, owners, and operators who need specify, create, update, use, and/or check files containing information that conforms to the Construction-Operations Building information exchange (COBie) Standard. Prerequisite: COBie As-Designed.

This is the third course in the three-part COBie Certified Professional Training pathway and is the first COBie Academy Mastery course. The course will show designers, contractors, owners, and consultants how to automatically verify and validate COBie files as well as how to check COBie in spreadsheet and IFC formats. The course begins with the basis for COBie Quality Control and then helps PC and Mac users install and operate the free software used to test the software systems themselves. Hands-on portions of the course will have students manually creating and checking COBie deliverables.

This course helps portfolio managers and owners understand the context and implications of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. This hands-on course will have facility/asset management teams creating and checking deliverables conforming to the international Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie) standard.
