Community Health Worker – Florida
Community Health Worker Mentorship Program with CareerSource
In partnership with CareerSource, the Office of Professional and Workforce Development is pleased to offer Alachua and Bradford County residents the opportunity to become a Certified Community Health Worker. This program pays for the course, on-the-job training, and group mentorship.

This program is designed for anyone interested in becoming a Community Health Worker. Applicants must meet the requirements for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Funding.
This program has an online component that takes 10 weeks to complete. You will need access to a computer and the Internet. There will be a 40-hour in-person mentorship component where students may have to work community events throughout the week and on weekends. At the conclusion of the 10 week online class, students will get an opportunity to complete their 500 practicum hours at one of our partner employers.

How to Register
1. This program is funded under WIOA through CareerSource. To see if you qualify, please contact Mary Crown at mcrown@careersourcencfl.com or 352-955-2245 ext:5958
2. If you qualify, you will be issued a voucher for the course. Please email ltroffer@ufl.edu with the signed voucher and you will be registered for the course.
3. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with further instructions.
